Ingredients

  • 1 C fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 C bourbon
  • 6 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Combine the orange juice, maple syrup, and bourbon in a small saucepan.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then turn down the heat to medium high and let it simmer until the liquid is reduced to 1/3 C. This took me about 10 minutes. Watch it carefully so that it doesn't burn.
  • Once reduced whisk in the butter one tbsp at a time until fully incorporated. Pull the sauce off the heat and allow to cool slightly. Drizzle the warm syrup over cakes, or ice cream.
